Recovery Ride
Monday was a recovery ride for Todd and I. Barbara sensed our weakness, and took the Combs Canyon Hill Climb. I wanted to chase her down, but my legs advised me to stick to the plan. You can see Barbara up front in the yellow wind vest.
The north canyon is still full of greasy snow. Forward motion was treacherous!
The view looking down the north canyon.
Todd's idea of a recovery ride is throwing himself down a snowy precipice! Todd took the standard line around the corner, but unfortunately it is covered in greasy snow. His front tire washed out.
Randy looks at Todd laying in the snow and thinks to himself, "What a dumbass...".
Much of the trail was in great shape though...
A great view of Nevada's capital city.

I had no idea Randy was so perceptive.
How do you get out and ride almost everyday? Are these afterwork rides?
All the weekday pictures are from our lunch time rides. Carson City is a unique capital city...it's very small! The trails you see us riding in the pictures are only a couple miles from work. At noon we jump into our riding clothes, grab the bikes, and go! The two most common questions are, 1. When do you eat? and 2. Do you shower after the ride? We just eat at our desks while working, and the showering part...you just learn to be a little dirty during the 2nd half of the day. If you show up to a meeting with mud on your neck, so be it...
I hear baby wipes make a good alternative to showering (commuter trick). I am a Blue Collar Man so I stink anyway...
that's how i do it too. although, we have a shower at work, so i'll take a quick shower.
but lunch at desk, yep! and the 2nd half of the day you feel a little peppier.
Showers would be nice on occasion, but then you have to wonder when you'd have time to shower...especially if there are a few riders in line to shower! It doesn't matter anyhow...there are no showers in any of the offices around here anyway.
